Terms & Conditions of Hire


The ‘Company’ is trading as Sweet Buds. The ‘Hirer’ is any person or company who hires or has agreed to hire Goods from the Company. ‘Goods’ means goods provided by the Company in accordance with the Company’s standard Terms and Conditions of hirer

2. Limit of Liability for defect

The Company’s liability in respect of any defect or failure of the equipment supplied on hire is limited only to making good such defect or failure by repair or replacement of the equipment at the Company’s option

3. Insurance to Cover Loss or Damage

The Customer assumes complete responsibility for loss of or damage to the hire equipment (Other than fair wear and tear) from the time the equipment leaves the Company’s premises or transport, until it is returned to same. To this end, it is a condition of hire that the customer will arrange insurance cover to provide for the risks of; Theft, Fire, Accidental Damage, Personal Injury & Public Liability, and in addition the Customer will indemnify the Company against any and all claims for the said risks

4.Chair Covers & Linen

The Hirer is responsible for and loss or damage to covers /sashes & linen whilst on loan up until their collect/return. A charge of £10.00 will be made for each unreturned chair cover or linen or each chair cover or table linen which is returned in an unusable condition. This fee covers the replacement cost. Reasonable soiling which is removed through laundering will not incur charges. A charge of £2.00 will be made for each unreturned chair sash or each chair sash which is returned in an unusable condition. This fee covers the replacement cost. Reasonable soiling which is removed through laundering will not incur charges. The hirer shall be responsible for injury or damage to persons or property however so sustained arising from any hired goods from Sweet Buds.

5.Village Halls/DIY Weddings, Parties & Events

Should we be providing items where you have to setup a hall & have hired linen, chairs/covers from us, we would expect all tables and chairs to be in place at our agreed arrival times ready for covering. At the end of the night it is the hirers responsibility to clear the tables and remove all chair covers from chairs and bag all in black sacks/linen bags ready for our team to collect (otherwise you may incur additional clear down fees) at the agreed collection time and any other items just to be left to one side for us to take down i.e,. Back drops/up lighting

6. Hire Charges - Lost, Theft or Damage

The Hirer is responsible for and loss or damage to other items whilst on loan up until their satisfactory collection/return. A replacement charge will be made for each unreturned item or each item which is returned in an unusable condition

7. Pricing

All hire charges are shown in £’s sterling and VAT is not applicable. We reserve the right at any time, to alter prices without notification. Prices shown MAY not include delivery or installation charges etc., but these will be quoted extra where necessary and carried out by arrangement

8. Payment Terms

Sweet Buds require a 40% non-refundable deposit/booking fee of the total cost of your order price to hold an event date. Your final chair cover numbers are required 14 days prior to the Hirer’s event. Once numbers are confirmed and the Hirer’s final payment received no refund is available to the Hirer in the event of chair cover numbers being reduced or in the event of cancellation. Standard laundering and cleaning is included in the price of Hired Goods. Sweet Buds will not invoice additional charges to the hirer for food and drink stain or light scuff marks from shoes as Sweet Buds consider these stains as part of the event. However, if Sweet Buds find that irreversible damage has been caused by mistreatment, for example deliberately ripped or excessive food and drink stains then Sweet Buds will issue the Hirer a replacement invoice. Shortages or damage to hired goods will be charged at £10.00 per chair cover & £2.00 sash.

9. Cancellation

If a Sweet Buds order is cancelled within 21 days prior to the event date the Hirer will be responsible for the total cost of the order. However, if Sweet Buds are notified of cancellation before then, the Hirer’s 40% non-refundable (save the date) deposit will be kept and the order null and void..

Adverse weather conditions also affect this, if the customer or Sweet Buds cannot attend due to adverse weather conditions, which could also put staff safety at risk, no refund will be given. Sweet Buds will always endeavour to complete all works, but cannot be held responsible for any circumstances beyond our control for example heavy snow or our delivery team arrive on site to find the event cancelled, then the Customer shall pay the full hire charge including carriage. Cancellations the day of delivery will be subject to 100% of the total bill

Client waives transferring subrogation rights to a third party or insurer in the event of a claim against the Supplier. Supplier is released from pursuit of subrogated recovery of funds by a third party or insurance company. Client agrees that they are solely responsible for the agreement held with an insurance provider or third party guarantor.

10. Candles and tea-lights, Candelabras & Balloon Safety

The company cannot accept any responsibility for any damage caused by candles or tea-lights when in the possession of the customer. The company recommends that all candles and tea-lights remain in their holders, candelabra, vase whilst lit. The company also recommends that tea-lights should not to be placed on a non-fire-resistant surface.

BALLOON SAFETY: Please Note that balloons are inflated with helium gas - for the safety and wellbeing of your guests, we suggest that the gas is not inhaled directly. If you intend to hire candelabras from us we cannot take any responsibility for damage caused during hire.


In the unlikely event of any dissatisfaction on the Hirer’s part, then Sweet Buds must be informed within 5 working days of the event. If the complaint is deemed reasonable then an investigation will be carried out and an outcome will be provided. Sweet Buds reserve the right to refuse compensation with any complaint arising after a 5 day period. Complaints can be raised by contacting Sweet Buds by email or post

12. Termination of Liability

The Company shall be relieved of all liability and obligations incurred to the Hirer and any other third party. Wherever, and to which the fulfilment of such obligation is prevented, frustrated or impeded in consequence of any statue, rules, regulations, orders or requisitions issued by any national or foreign government department, council or other duly constituted authority or by reason of any strikes, breakdown of plant, accident, civil commotion, war or any other cause beyond the control of the Company. Including but not limited to causes arising from acts omissions of the Hirer

Paying a deposit/booking fee is agreement to the above Terms and Conditions set out by Sweet Buds
